The event will be held at Tooby Park on Sprowel Creek Road in Garberville. This year there will be a walk at 11:30 a.m. and another at 4 p.m. Pick the time that works best for you and be sure to make the 2.25 miles of easy trail walking through the stunning Community Park.
Throughout the day there will be free craft and activity booths, nature hikes, games, music, a martial arts demo, and informational booths on the activities of local area non-profits.
The park’s farm will offer an electric cart tour. School Food booths will be serving a variety of delicious fare.
Entrance fee for the event is a sliding scale of $10-$25, or $40 for a family pass. Children under 5 are admitted free of charge. Every early registrant will receive a Walk in the Park T-shirt, and on-site registrants will receive one as long as supplies last. To register go to sohumpark.org, or call 923-2468.
The Walk in the Park is a joint fundraiser for The Southern Humboldt Community Park and local schools.
