A vehicle pursuit ensued in which Maillelle ran multiple stop signs and fled through the city at high rates of speed, including in excess of 90 mph on southbound Broadway.
Maillelle eventually abandoned his vehicle at Highland Park around 2:30 a.m. and fled on foot. Maillelle was subsequently taken into custody at gunpoint outside a residence on the 3400 block of Cottage Street.
A records check revealed the Honda Odyssey was reported stolen on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from a residence on the 2200 block of Parkwood, Eureka. Maillelle was also determined to be on active CDC parole for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Maillelle was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for felony reckless evading, resisting arrest, DUI, vehicle theft, and parole violation.
