On July 31, at about 8:45 a.m. the Humboldt County Drug Task Force assisted by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s office served two related search warrants in the Garberville area.

The first search warrant was served at a residence located in the 300 block of Oakridge Drive in Redway. Officers located an indoor marijuana growing operation in the shop area behind the residence. Officers seized 256 growing marijuana plants that were about six inches in height each. Officers seized three rifles and about $12,000 dollars in cash. No one was at home at the time of the search warrant.

The second search warrant was served on a parcel of property located off Connick Creek Road in Garberville. Officers located three greenhouses on the property and seized 1,074 growing marijuana plants that ranged in height from two feet to five feet. Officers located one subject on the property who they identified as Jesus Vega, age 45, from Fortuna. Vega was released at the scene with a notice to appear for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.

There are other suspects associated in this investigation.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.
