On Tuesday, May 22 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Geiger’s Market, 44951 North Highway 101, in Laytonville for a reported theft.
After arriving at the location, deputies learned that the suspect, Leonel Alvaro-Arcos, age 29, from Sacramento, entered the store and took merchandise then left with without paying. The merchandise was recovered by store employees prior to the suspect leaving the area.
The suspect was located nearby and positively identified as the person responsible for the theft and was arrested without incident. The suspect later admitted to deputies that he had entered the store with the intent to commit larceny.
The suspect was arrested, transported and lodged at the Mendocino County Jail where he was charged with burglary and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $15,000.
