David Fletcher Corrington passed away on May 9, 2012 in Fortuna, California. He was born on July 5, 1920 to Stephen and May Corrington in San Francisco and grew up in Saratoga.

Dave attended San Jose State College before serving in New Guinea and the Philippines during WWII. After the war, he attended San Francisco State College where he received his B.A. and also met his future wife, Lucille McKee. Dave and Lucille had a daughter, Jackie, who they raised in Alameda.

He worked for the U.S. Post Office for over 30 years. After retirement Dave and Lucille traveled extensively, visiting over 50 countries. In 1978, they relocated to Wilder Ridge near Honeydew, which was a dream come true for them. Dave especially enjoyed hiking the King Range with his dogs and burro named Jackson.

Lucille passed away in 1999 after which he continued to travel with his friend, Sube. Dave was an avid Sierra Club member and a staunch Democrat. He was a lifelong hiker and backpacker, including many trips in the Sierras, treks in Nepal and completing most of the Appalachian Trail.

Dave is survived by daughter, Jackie Klimowicz (Ed); granddaughters, Suzanne and Rebecca; great granddaughter, Laceabeth; nephews Bill and George; friends: Sube (Honeydew), Carolina (Wilder Ridge) and Donita (Seattle); and his beloved dog, Bonnie.
