Three Eel River Rapids U-14 soccer team members were guests at the Garberville Rotary Club. The girls, Redway School seventh-grader Raylani Reis, and South Fork High School eighth-graders Sunny Elliott and Ursula Harwood play on a team comprised of members throughout Humboldt County. They travel to Fortuna and Eureka for practices.

A team of 16 girls and 10 chaperones will be playing in the Pitea Summer Games in Sweden. The U-14 team consists of players from all over Humboldt County.

The girls, along with their coach, and family members will spend two weeks in Europe and will visit various historical sites. The cost is approximately $3,700 per player and the girls have been fundraising since last September to reach their goal.

There will be a total of 750 soccer teams, from 11 countries in the tournament with the possibility of five games per day, each 40 minutes long.
