Friends of Whitethorn School will hold the fourth annual 5k and 10k Family Fun Run and Walk on Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 26 at Mal Coombs Park in Shelter Cove. The 5k and 10k run, as well as the 2.3-mile Family Fun Run and Walk will begin promptly at 11 a.m. The course, which winds along Upper and Lower Pacific is flat with some hills and has lovely views of the ocean. Registration is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. the day of the run.

Early registration forms are available at Flavors in Garberville, Cafe Dolce in Whitethorn, The Jogg’n Shoppe in Arcata and Body Concepts in the Meadows.

After the run, starting at 12:30 p.m. there will be barbecue and fresh salads by J Catering and desserts by Shelter Cove Pioneers. Beer, wine and beverages will be available for purchase.

Enjoy music by local musician One Bevatori and a large carnival area with bounce houses and slides. Razzle Dazzle will bring her wonderful talents, face painting, games and entertainment for kids. Join the run in the morning followed by an afternoon lunch in beautiful Shelter Cove or just come for the afternoon of festivities.
