The calls included different ideas for fundraisers and people wanting to donate money. One person was able to offer the $700 for December, which would be the first month there would not be enough money to cover Nurtchia’s rent. This was such a relief and much appreciated.
This also gave Alexander a fundraising idea. If those people who are concerned, would talk with their friends and together come up with an amount that either covers a month, or would cover some part of a month they could look ahead and make up a calendar showing what months have been covered and keep filling in the blanks.
There is no way to know exactly when the opening at the Skilled Nursing Facility of the Jerold Phelps Community Hospital will come, (there are two people ahead of her). There is a possibility they might not even need the money... but having it pledged, would allow some breathing space.
All this is not to say individual donations would not be appreciated. They would very much be appreciated and could help make it all work.
Alexander would like to thank Archers Golden Years Care Home in Miranda for allowing Nurtchia to continue living there on a month-to-month basis. They have been more than helpful with her care.
Nurtchia has an account at the Community Credit Union. Her account number is 13576, but you can just give her name and they will help you. Alexander’s suggestion is to put it in her savings account. Any questions or ideas, please call Susan Alexander at (707) 223-0715.
