Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge will hold a large volunteer restoration day on Sunday, Dec. 6. Come out for a restoration planting of native riparian habitat in an area formerly dominated by invasive eucalyptus trees. We need your help to plant willows, alders, twinberry and other plants that will be used by deer, songbirds and many other forms of wildlife for decades to come!
Humboldt Bay NWR will have all plants and tools on hand the day of the event, and plants will be laid out where they need to be planted so younger children can easily participate. The event starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m.
The Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge complex is located at 1020 Ranch Road, Loleta.
