A routine traffic stop in Redway late Saturday night resulted in a pair of narcotics arrests.

A Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in Redway when he pulled a car over for a vehicle registration violation at about 11 p.m. According to a sheriff’s office press release, the driver of the vehicle, Heather Marie Jaynes, 28, of Piercy, was driving on a suspended license.

Upon searching Jaynes’ car, her person and that of her passenger, David Michael Huckaby, a 52-year-old transient, the deputy reportedly found 50 grams of heroin, 92 methadone pills, assorted prescription pills, small amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, a glass pipe and a hypodermic syringe, according to the release.

Both Jaynes and Huckaby were transported to the Humboldt County jail, where they were booked on suspicion of possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale, and the transportation of a narcotic controlled substance for sale, according to the release.

Both suspects posted bail in the amount of $25,000 and were released from custody, according to the release. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
