Senior Luke Wilhelm, junior Brandon Steele, and sophomore Gabe Miclette made the trip. They ran in a Division V race consisting of 150 athletes, with the winning time of 15.37. There were roughly 1,000 athletes making up all five divisions, including both boys and girls.
Assistant coach DJ Miclette said, “It was a nice 70-degree day and perfect running weather. Our guys did pretty well.”
Miclette ran a 17.48 on the three-mile course, placing 43rd. Steele ran an 18:31 placing 78th, and Wilhelm ran a 19:12 placing 103rd out of 150 competitors.
Miclette said, “Unfortunately, Lucas and Brandon only had about a week’s notice to get ready to compete. Because they didn’t complete the cross country course for the county championships they didn’t realize that they would be able to go to NCS. That’s why their times were down, but they did really well. I was very proud of all these kids this year and they had a good season and finished in good fashion. They ran a really good race down in Hayward. Now, we are on our way to basketball
